Paper 1 – The human body and movement in physical activity and sport           Written exam – 1 hour 15 mins (78 marks – 30% of GCSE)

Paper 2 – Socio – Cultural influences and well-being in physical activity and sport

Written exam – 1 hour 15 mins (78 marks – 30% of GCSE)

Non exam assessment – practical performance in physical activity and sport

Assessed by teachers, moderated by AQA (100 marks – 40% of GCSE)

 

Years 10 & 11

Level 2 Qualification in sports Leadership

Minimum age of 13

Total Qualification Time – 50 hours

Tutored Time (GL) – 24 hours

Demonstration of leadership – 10 hours – required before qualification is certified

Credits- 5

Objective: SL2 and CSL2 are nationally recognised qualifications that enable successful learners to lead safe, purposeful and enjoyable sport/physical activity, under indirect supervision.

 

Key content: Leadership skills including organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport.
